Bonjour, Je dois traiter du sujet suivant : « Are you fascinated by books ? Do you read much ? Explain why or why not »

Books have always fascinated people since their creation and I see no reason not to be fond of if not in love. From babies to adults through child and teenagers (en passant par les enfants et les adolescents), everyone can find what he’s wishing for; nature, literature, philosophy… most subject, not to say all, have been dealt. It’s all the more interesting since it loses you in so many worlds different from our or on the contrary so close, so real that you totally feel and live the story in which you entered (tu vies complètement l’histoire dans laquelle tu y est entrée). Scarcely are the books flow with useless things. Not only is it one of the best and the simplest way to evaded to others worlds, but also is a painless way to inspired ourselves from others opinions; thus, such a simple leisure can “forge” our general culture and the way life may appear to us. Although the sight of a book is, in most cases, a disappointement and the source of a multitude of grumpy faces, I think that people aren’t enough open-minded and mature to detect (déceler) the true goal of the author. It’s better reading than doing nothing, even if it’s only five minutes. Books have the advantage to be transportable and for all purpose (passé-partout?). On the one hand, will you say me, books may be so much heavier than our bag itself, but on the other hand even more are pocket edition (mais d’un autre côté, il y a plus encore de livres pocket). Cheaper and cheaper, books can’t be more profitable than any other leisure. Like chocolate, never would you have tasted it then never would you have been addicted. As far as I’m concern, I have read book since school (euh comment on appelle la période CP-CM2?), but soon my range narrowed around the fantasy category, full of irrealistic landscapes and fascinating story. I prefer reading when I’m stressful or angry because it allows me to free myself and not to think too much. Books are knowing the same fate as musics; they are suffering from the technology. Actually, internet allows a fast and free spreading. Will the books disappear?

Merci.

Salut, Lysias.

Books have always fascinated people since their creation and I see no reason not to be fond of if not in love.
Books have always fascinated people ever since words were first put on a page, and I'm just as fond of them if not in love with them.
From babies to adults through child and teenagers (en passant par les enfants et les adolescents), everyone can find what he’s wishing for; nature, literature, philosophy… most subject, not to say all, have been dealt.
Regardless of one's age, everyone can indulge his passion for knowledge by reading a book on virtually any subject: nature, literature, philosophy, etc.
It’s all the more interesting since it loses you in so many worlds different from our or on the contrary so close, so real that you totally feel and live the story in which you entered (tu vies complètement l’histoire dans laquelle tu y est entrée).
Reading books is all the more interesting since you can lose yourself in worlds completely different from your own, worlds that become so real that you totally feel and live the story which you have entered.
Scarcely are the books flow with useless things. Not only is it one of the best and the simplest way to evaded to others worlds, but also is a painless way to inspired ourselves from others opinions; thus, such a simple leisure can “forge” our general culture and the way life may appear to us.
Rare are the books which are filled with useless information. Not only is reading books one of the best and simplest ways to escape to other worlds, but it is also a painless way to be inspired by the opinions of others; thus, such a simple leisure as this can forge new perceptions of culture and lifestyles within us.
Although the sight of a book is, in most cases, a disappointement and the source of a multitude of grumpy faces, I think that people aren’t enough open-minded and mature to detect (déceler) the true goal of the author.
For an increasing number of individuals these days, the sight of a book is a cause for disappointment and dissatisfaction since their interest and attention have been captivated by motion pictures, TV series, and exciting computer games. People are no longer up to the challenge of deciphering the author's message.
It’s better reading than doing nothing, even if it’s only five minutes. Books have the advantage to be transportable and for all purpose (passé-partout?).
In my opinion, it's better to read than to do nothing, even if it's only for five minutes. Books have the advantage of being transportable and serve as a master key to untold and unexplored vistas of experience and knowledge.
On the one hand, will you say me, books may be so much heavier than our bag itself, but on the other hand even more are pocket edition (mais d’un autre côté, il y a plus encore de livres pocket). Cheaper and cheaper, books can’t be more profitable than any other leisure.
You may say, on the one hand, that books tend to be quite heavy to carry around; but on the other hand, there are soft-cover editions of practically every book in print. Considering how inexpensive books are these days, there isn't a more profitable way to spend one's leisure time.
Like chocolate, never would you have tasted it then never would you have been addicted. As far as I’m concern, I have read book since school (euh comment on appelle la période CP-CM2?), but soon my range narrowed around the fantasy category, full of irrealistic landscapes and fascinating story.
Reading books is like eating chocolate. You won't become addicted to it until you've tasted of it. As far as I'm concerned, I've been reading books since I was in the first grade; but since then, my interests have centered around the fantasy category, which is full of surrealistic landscapes and fascinating plot lines.
I prefer reading when I’m stressful or angry because it allows me to free myself and not to think too much. Books are knowing the same fate as musics; they are suffering from the technology. Actually, internet allows a fast and free spreading. Will the books disappear?
I prefer to read when I am under stress or feel angry because it allows me to take my mind off my problems, and provides me with a pleasant escape from the real world. Unfortunately, the appreciation of literature is suffering the same fate as the appreciation of music; and the reason for this is technology. At the present time, the Internet provides one with instant and free access to information covering every domain of life; and its use is on the increase. Will books eventually disappear as a result?

Que veut dire "the appreciation of literature"? "plotlines"?
Dans quel but, sens peut-on utiliser "I prefer to read " au lieu de "I prefer reading"?

*************************************
1. The appreciation of literature c'est tout simplement l'estimation ou la mise en valeur de la lecture (ou de la littérature).

Le plot line (on dit aussi : story line) c'est le cours de l'histoire (ou le déroulement de l'histoire).

2. Dire I prefer reading ou I prefer to read ça revient au même. Moi j'avais envie d'employer to read dans cette phrase, mais on peut bien employer l'autre forme du verbe.
