Bonsoir Smile

J'ai un exercice à faire, je l'ai fait et je voulez vous demander si vous pourriez me le corriger.

Le voici :

He is a condemned personn. His social background is extremely poor , he lived in some hlm ..He has been ( elevé) not in some good conditions: his father died and his mother is a bit crazy, she lost her head .His acquitances were not very searched (recherché), he stayed with some bandies, ganster, not some good personn . With his pal, he has been judged to have killed two teenagers, after have rapped them Her pal took the prison for life, whereas he is condemned to dead .

2.Ithink that on the way( d'une facon ?) he is guilty because According to him, it's his pal who had pushed him to do this horrible act ( he was exhausted, he did not sleep two days, and when his pal said to him, he carried out . I think that even if his pal ordons to him that, he wouldn't have to do it, quitte à mourir = even if he died?

3 ) in spite of all, i think i could be friend with him . He doesn't look nasty, he hasn't been spoiled by the life ( n'a pas été gaté par la vie ?) He seen lost .

4)She is a nun , Her social background is wealth , Her education was very well, she has been well eduacated . Her acquitances were some good personn , stable...

5)She wants to help the condamned to dead because one the one hand he asked to her and on the other hand he hasn' got no body to help him, Also, she felt sadness,

6)I don't think she is enough strong to handle the situation , She has never had ( elle n'a jamais eu affaire à ce genre de situation ?) in her life . As a sister, she is more accustomed to pray, look after of poor people, but not to look after and defend a condemned to dead, Besides, we can see she is perturb in her choice : presently ( tantot) she wants to help him, presently she doubts in her choice...

7)So many people warn Sister about her new « job » because they worried for her , They feared the condemned to dead profits from the kindness of the sister and that he manipulates her...

8.Iam mitigated : On the one hand, i support the sister who want to help a condemned to dead who has none support, who has not be (gaté?) by the life and had a childhood difficult, and who doesn't merit to be dead, he must stay in jail to perpetuate like his pal who was with him this night . On the other hand i am agree with the parents , and i understood their pain: they had lost their solely son. I think that i would have the same react if it was my children .In sum, i am agree with the two position , i can't make a choice....

9)The kind of people who were the victim were some people like everyone, some simple teenagers like us, who just wanted to profit of the life …..

10The condemned to dead is from a poor social background whereas the sister is from a wealth social . She has been well educated whereas he has not . She is devoted and helful with people whereas he is a ganster . She lives in a house whereas he lives in Hlm .

Merci par avançe !! Very Happy

MessageSujet: Re: Homework   Mer 22 Déc - 22:12

Salut, Brice.

Je t'accueille chaleureusement sur ce site. Désolé pour le retard de ma réponse.
*************************************************
He is a condemned personn.
He is a condemned person.
His social background is extremely poor ,
His social background is rooted in poverty.
he lived in some hlm ..
He lived in public housing.
He has been ( elevé) not in some good conditions: his father died and his mother is a bit crazy, she lost her head .
He was brought up in rather desperate circumstances. His father is dead, and his mother lost her mind.
His acquitances were not very searched (recherché),
His acquaintances weren't very ???
he stayed with some bandies, ganster, not some good personn .
He stayed with some buddies of his... gangsters, people of questionable character.
With his pal, he has been judged to have killed two teenagers, after have rapped them Her pal took the prison for life, whereas he is condemned to dead .
He, along with is pal, was convicted of murdering two teeenage girls after raping them. One was given a prison sentence, while the other was condemned to death.

In one way, I think he is guilty because according to him, it was his pal who pushed him to commit this horrible crime. He claimed he was exhausted and didn't sleep for two days, so that he did whatever his pal told him to do. In my opinion, he didn't have to do what his pal told him, even if it meant dying as a result.

3 ) in spite of all, i think i could be friend with him . He doesn't look nasty, he hasn't been spoiled by the life ( n'a pas été gaté par la vie ?) He seen lost .
In spite of everything, I believe I could be friends with him. He doesn't seem mean. He hasn't been scarred by the circumstances of his life. He seems somewhat lost.

4)She is a nun , Her social background is wealth , Her education was very well, she has been well eduacated . Her acquitances were some good personn , stable...
She is a nun. Her social background is one of wealth. She is well educated. Her acquaintances are people of good character with stable positions in life.

5)She wants to help the condamned to dead because one the one hand he asked to her and on the other hand he hasn' got no body to help him, Also, she felt sadness,
She wants to help the man condemned to death because on the one hand, he asked her to; and on the other, he doesn't have anybody to help him. So she feels sorry for him.

I don't think she's strong enough to handle the situation. She's never dealt with this type of situation in her whole life. As a nun, she's more accustomed to praying and caring for poor people, but not caring for and defending anyone on death row. We can see that she is torn between two emotions: the desire to help him and misgivings about her choice to do so.

7)So many people warn Sister about her new « job » because they worried for her , They feared the condemned to dead profits from the kindness of the sister and that he manipulates her...
So many people warned her about her new "job" because they were worried about her. They were afraid the man who was sentenced to death would take advantage of her kindness and try to manipulate her.

I can't make up mind. On the one hand, I am all for a nun wanting to help someone on death row because he has no one on his side, someone who hasn't been ruined by life, someone who has had a difficult childhood and doesn't deserve the death penalty. ??? On the other hand, I agree with the parents. I understand their pain. They're going to lose their only son. I would react the same way if it were my son. So, I agree with both positions. I just can't decide one way or the other.

9)The kind of people who were the victim were some people like everyone, some simple teenagers like us, who just wanted to profit of the life …..
The victims were just like every other teenager, young people who wanted to live their lives and fulfill their dreams.

10The condemned to dead is from a poor social background whereas the sister is from a wealth social . She has been well educated whereas he has not . She is devoted and helful with people whereas he is a ganster . She lives in a house whereas he lives in Hlm .
The man on death row comes from a poor social background, whereas the nun is from a wealthy background. She is well educated, whereas he is not. She's committed to her faith and helps people, while he is little more than a gangster. She lives in a house, and he lives in public housing.

Contrairement au français, on met pas d'espace en anglais avant les signes de ponctuation.

On termine chaque idée complète par un point final, comme celle-ci par exemple.

Hi, Ed.

"he lived in some hlm ..
Incompréhensible."

He meant he lived in a public housing unit.
He should've written HLM = habitation à loyer modéré.
Hope it helps. Wink

Have a joyful Christmas and a very happy New Year! Very Happy
