Bonjour voila j'ai quelques phrases issues de mes réponses a des questions qu'on nous a donnés, si quelqu'un pouvait les corriger ca serait sympa ^^.
La Bienvenue des marins Britanique par les Polynésiens.
Part 1: The welcome of the British sailors by the Polynesians.
In order to welcome the British sailors, Polynesians came to meet (les Polynésiens sont venus a la rencontre des britaniques à bord de) British aboard of several canoes or even double canoes of differents sizes, all well organized, from Matavai Bay.
The canoes used were either small, able to carry four or five people, rather weird in Mr Byam's view (plutôt étrange selon Mr Byam (celui qui raconte l'histoire)), crafted, or big canoes called double canoes, able to carry up to thirty or more people. This canoes were rather crude (rudimentaire) since they go forward with paddler, but well organized.
(Il y a une phrase que je n'arrive pas à traduire "[...] with an outrigger on the larboard side ans a high stern sweeping up in a shape almost semicircular." Qui relève de la description des canoes.
The canoes proceed forward thanks to their paddlers on board who paddled with such a well organisation that they approached Brithish in few time (en peu de temps). Indeed, at the signal of the man astern the canoe (after about 6 strokes on one side), paddlers switched to the opposing side and so on, in order to lead the canoe right. (Afin de bien diriger le canoe)
It was captain Bligh's second voyage to Tahiti because he knew some words in Tahitian language, since he understood what Tahitians said and aswered them "Taio" which mean "Friend".
On nous dit ensuite d'expliquer l'expression: "far-famed race".
"Next moment the first boatload of Indians came springing over the bulwarks, and I had my first glimpse at close quarters of this far-famed race."
Here is my explanation:
Polynesians are called the "far-famed race" because this race live in a place lost from the world, far from the Big Power (USA, Europe...) in the middle of this huge Pacific Ocean, in the middle of nowhere. But they are famous because Europeans discovered these islands lost in nowhere and it was the heaven on Earth for them since there were beautiful women and landscapes were rather awesome.
Part 2: The description of this "far-famed race" in Europeans' view(selon les européens)
Polynesians, most of them were men, came on board in order to welcome Europeans.
Sinon y a une prase je ne comprends pas:
"The few women who came on board at this time were all of the lower orders of society, and uncommonly diminutive as compared with the men"
Il y avait donc aussi des femmes à bord mais je ne sais pas pourquoi.
Native were simple, using the nature to cover themselves. Their clothes were crafted by themselves so we can say they are not evolved that much and they ae close to the nature. They are gay since they often smile, kind, and good nature. The women are really beautiful.
Part 3:
Bligh's orders to his sailors were to treat the Polynesians with the greatest kindness, though watched closely to prevent the thefts to which the commoners among them were prone.
The atmosphere on board was rather joyful, relaxed, friendly.
What was so friendly is the fact that many people were on board, laughing, talking... Mr Byam was joking with girls and has even given some gifts although they were triffling.
Voila ^^" désolé je sais c'est un peu grand lol. Merci d'avance. Et Bonne année!
