Exercice 1 :

Use the words in brackets to form a genitive case or a structure using « of ». Pay special attention to the articles and the word order !

1. The friends were watching television in …the living room of the flat… ( living room / flat)
2. She was introduced to …her husband’s colleagues… ( husband / colleagues)
3. …the walls of the town hall… were covered with old photographs. ( walls/ town hall)
4. He gazed at …speaker’s face… ( speaker/face)
5. She detested Michael,… her younger brother’s friend…, as he was so immature. ( younger brother / friends)
6. They hiked up to .. the top of the hill… (hill/top)
7. She loved the view from …back of the house… ( back/house)
8. He did all those things behind …his wife’s back… ( back/ wife)
