Bonsoir, Betty Boop.
J'apprécie beaucoup ton attention aux corrections que j'ai faites.

Most people are for death penalty out of feelings of vengeance. The American South is the region where there is the highest number of executions due to differing cultural mentalities: people are more conservative in the South, and there is more religious bigotry there. As the Old Testament says, “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." The death penalty is also a call for vengeance. But there is an apparent contradiction in the Bible because in the Ten Commandments, it also says, “Thou shall not kill.” People for the death penalty think it serves as a deterrent for criminals; but in reality, I think it’s false because the crime rate is six times as large in the US as compared to France or United Kingdom. For this reason, I am against it. If justice promotes the death penalty, it is promoting murder. It’s easy to kill. We must find less barbaric solutions in applying the dealth penalty than the gas chamber, the electric chair, death by injection, or death by hanging. Moreover, the criminal justice system can make mistakes and and unjustly place a man on death row. For instance, false confessions can be made because of coercion or misunderstanding. Such miscarriages of justice are irreparable. Going to jail seems the better solution even if in some countries it represents a slow death.
Bien écrit. Je te recommande cependant d'éviter les phrases commençant par and et but. Je m'excuse d'être tellement méticuleux ; mais comme la chirurgie, c'est nécessaire.
